Geotechnical Engineer

Purpose of the Charge:

Perform geotechnical engineering reviews of potential civil projects, sites; plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate field exploration and laboratory testing; develop laboratory research methods and conduct research. Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and develop recommendations for site grading and earthwork, shallow and deep foundation design and construction, settlement mitigation, site drainage, pavement design (asphalt mix design) and slope stability; prepare design memoranda and geotechnical exploration reports; perform and coordinate testing, review and observation of site grading and earthwork, foundation construction, concrete, masonry construction and pavements materials. Will supervise one technician.

Education:

Must have Bachelor’s in Civil. Engineering,

Experience:

2 years of CE experience w/ at least 1 year of that in Geotechnical Engineering and1 year in Asphalt Mix Design.

Will accept Master’s in Civil Engineering with 12 hrs. coursework experience in both areas. (Coursework at the rate of 1 hr. of coursework equals 1 month work experience in the place of the 2 yr. work experience).

Other requirements:

Must be able to prepare geotechnical report using gINT software.

Office in OKC but some travel across the state required.
